DeskDazzle's word processor writes and edits documents in your browser and saves real .docx files you can open in Word or Google Docs. The document is built on your own device by a Rust engine compiled to WebAssembly, so nothing is uploaded, and it keeps working with no connection.
How to edit a .docx file without Word
Open the word processor and either start a blank document or drag a .docx file onto the page.
Write and format as usual — headings, lists, bold and italic, tables.
Choose Save as .docx to get a file Word and Google Docs both open, or Export PDF for something final.
The file lands in your downloads folder. It was never sent anywhere to be converted.

Is this a free alternative to Microsoft Word?
For writing, formatting and exchanging .docx files, yes — and it needs no account or subscription. It does not attempt Word's full feature set: no track changes, no mail merge, no real-time co-authoring.
Are my documents uploaded to a server?
No. There is no application server to upload them to. The .docx is parsed and written on your device, and the file stays in your browser's storage until you export or delete it.
Can I open a document made in Word?
Yes. Drag a .docx file in and it opens. Very unusual layouts, embedded macros and some exotic field codes will not survive the round trip — plain documents, headings, lists and tables do.
